Starting over

It's a story I do want to finish. Just like the story I got inspiret to in 10th grade for a school assignment I know this isn't just a story I'm able to put aside, before I'm done. But now I have two stories I'd like to finish at some point, so could be a little difficult to actually keep them apart. Should just focus on one at a time.

But with the decission to wanting to finish the story, I've also decided to rewrite everything I've done so far. This won't be a NaNo thing any longer either. I'll take it nice and slow, and in my own speed

Loosing my story and not feeling motivated

And no. I didn't litterarely lose my story in the sense of loosing the data, my documents I wrote them in. I simply don't know how to get to where I know I want the story to go.

Got some tips. One of them was to go to a different part of the story. While I waited for the advices and kicks in butts and stuff I searched the internet for pictures. Was actually looking for a picture that could show how a wolf looked like 25K years ago, because I was curious after reading Jean M Auel's story about Children of the Earth series. Didn't find what I looked for BUT I did find something. I found my villan! They are wolves and are an inteligent species, like the felines, but they don't have a humanoid form like them. Also I figured out, that one particularely kind of Feline has a tendency to be treacherous, the Panther, which is Zyanya's dad's feline form. Gives a reason for Io to having to help and many possible plot bunny ideas.

With that I felt like I could continue, and I know I still have a lot to write but now, the day after I feel so unmotivated again, and I stare straight out seing without seing, and feels like giving up. But that's mostly because of RL situations. There's nothing less motivating than not having enough money and knowing that one's situation will get even worse in the coming month, and that month even being Christmas month which means lots of gifts...

Taking things slow

I'm still only at ~1300 words written on computer, but I have hadwritten text, that will translate to at least the same amount, when i write it to the computer. Only question is just to do so.

Exam is stil hanging over my head, but at least it's only one left... The biggest of the lot. I'm going to make my presentation this monday, and need to make it first. I have about today, and a few hours tomorrow to make it done. I'm feeling laxy when it comes to that one, but I'm sure I'll still pass. The other tests felt hard, but I still got great grades for them, and I'm sure I can do the same with this one. It might sound strange, but right now I'm not that worried about that exam, as I was with the others. Afterall I only have to talk for about 15 minutes, and when you're in there the time just flies by. I was surprized about that with the other tests.
I even have made a desicion of what part of my repport I'm going to talk about. I simply just have to get into the stuff 100% and make the powerpoint I'm going to use. That shouldn't be that hard.

Also. Tomorrow is the first time ever I'm going to join a write-in. I'm a bit exited, and I hope more than just me and one other is showing up. There aren't a lot of people in my area writing for NaNo, and those who do hides, and never chat on the nano page, so there are never anyone ready for a write-in. I have to drive for about 2 hours, before I get to the city/big town where there are a few more people sharing the comunity of writing as well.
Being one of very few, and the only one not willing to hide in my own lair, when writing in my area hasn't stopped me this year. True, I haven't brought my laptop whenever I've gone out to eat, but a pet and paper is just as nice. And the upside of it is, that whatever I write in hand often, if not always translate into more words, when I rewrite them to my computer.

One oof those times I had today, after I visited a friend. I went to one of my favourite eating places, and after eating I found my pen and paper, and started writing. When I was done drinking the rest of my cola and wrote down a last word I had a strange feeling, that I've finally found a break thriugh for my story, and I'm looking forward to write tomorrow... and hope I won't be distracted too much.

The prologue

I'm not sure, if I should ad more to the prologue, if I got "everything" in it or just enough. As it is now, it's shorter, than I originally thought, but is also has a fine, open line, that could make you wonder what would actually happen later. Give your oppinion, if you'd like :-) (and this is the only part I'm going to share my entire day's work of, just in case I'd want to actually publish it some day)

She stared blankly out of the window, not noticing the open fields,w here the great variety of animals fed from. She was so deep into her own thought that she could focus on nothing else. The decission she had to make would be hard. The hardest thing she had ever had to take, even in her hig ranked possition int he siciety. It was expected of her to make desisions each day, that affected the entire world. At leas the world outside her windows. Not many knew it, but there were other worlds, unseen worlds, that only the (inviede) knew about, and only they knew how to move between them. She knew what had to be done, but she also knew, somehow, that if the laws were followed it would have a great, negative impact on the future. She didn't know exactly how it would be affected, but she knew it would be far from a good thing. She had to think of the other possible options, even though they would be looked at, as if the dicicion was only made, because it was her own, that she was too greatly involved in the decicion, that affected her own child, and therefore would look too mild on it. She knew that some of it might've been her motherly feelings affecting some of it, but that wasn't all. If she hadn't had this feeling, as from a dream, that this child would have a great impact on some future event, she'd have only little (tilbageholdenhed) to what the law prescriped.
She also knew, that the only possible way to make the other decicion valid, was to get help from the counsil. They had to help her to see what would be the best way to act on this feeling, and what sould be done with the child. With that clear, she started the long way to the counsil's resident.
With or without the counsils' blessing she knew what she had to do. But it would be so much better to get their blessing. The counsil often had their own ideas and thought about things how it should be, but when it came to her dreams and feelings the coundil could only do little. They didn't control the power those things had. That gave her some hope. It would be best, if the final decission was theirs. But she wasn't sure, if any exceptions to this particular law had ever been made, maybe at the beginning of times, when the world was still so young, that no one kept records of anything. There were stories, yes. But no one knew for a fact that similar things had been done to anyone.
The counsil were well aware of the power of their leader's dreams. She hadn't beeen chosen to be their leader, had her dreams not lead the way for her. She wasn't in any leader's line, and therefore had no right to the possition, by blood at least. But already from the time she was nothing but a child, she showed this strange ability to have deams that could predict things that would happen, or might happen. Often they had been nightmares. Or bad dreams, but there had been some good dreams as well. When she was a child she didn't think much about those dreams, but the adults seemed always to want to hear them, so she had ofcause talked about all the dreams she had. As time went she had started to notice that what she dreamed could actually happen, and she aslo started to develop some senses that, even in her awakeness would warn her about stuff, or let her know that something big was on her way. This was one of those moments. She knew that this child would do something big. Or at least had the potential to do something big. If only she was allowed to do what she had to do, and if she wasn't given the permission, she was willing to cast everything overboard. For this child she would cast away her leadership. Even though she had all the leaderqualities plus a little more, she wasn't secured as a leader. She would never be because of her line, and doing what she was planning, if she couldn't get the counsils' permission would jepadize it all. But she was willing to do it, because of these dreams.
What made it even more difficult decision was the fact that this child was her own daughter. Everyone, including the council might get the idea, that she only did this, because she wanted to save the daughter, only because she was her daugter. She couldn't say that was entirely untrue, but she was sure, that hadn't it been for the dreams, she would have followed the laws without hesitation, even though it would've hurt to let go of someon ein her own blodline. But for this child she was absolutely sure, there was a higher purose of letting her be. She had a purpose to fulfill. Maybe not tomorrow or next year. But she had so be allowed to live, or something really bad would happen. Now all she needed was to make the council realize this, and to do that, she had to tell them about her dream. She knew they were good at interping dreams, but there was the one question, if they were able to see the same thing as she saw.
She realized that the sun was setting over the forst filled hill, and that the grazing animals had moved further to the forrest. They would be safer there during night, than in the open planes.
”It's time” she thought, and started walking with heavy steps toward the door, that lead to the chamber of the council.

And the story begins

Still relatively little there yet, but the day is young.
Still no word from my original MC's but as I went to bed last night I got a revalation to where to begin my story. I'm currently writing on a prolouge, that will be around 2K words, if I'm not mistaken, before we meet one of the original MC's.
Reason why the MC's won't talk to me? They're currently too young to have any communication. I need them to grow up, before they can start talking again B-)

Finally

It's been a hectic week, and I'm still in need to make some school-assignments for presentations, but they aren't nearly as hard as the one controlling my brain, and turning it into mush the past week. And my sleeping pattern is back to normal again. took a looong nap yesterday afternoon, which made me too drowsy to write/ anything yesterday last night.
Hopefully this means I can also finally start writing this novel... only question now is "How do I start, when my characters has been forced to go into a deep sleep?"

Oh boy...

like I expected. I'm going to get a late start on this one. I'm SO much behind on my exam-assignment repport about starting my own business, that it takes all my brain power, and frustrates me so much, that the words won't just spit out, so there's simply nothing left for the NaNo story yet.
This story will be handed in Thursday, though, and then I expect to selebrate with a good, nice, long session of NaNo writing.

Good luck to everyone who dares to try this challenge.
